Our sessions last 45 mins but patients are only required to stay the first 20 mins of each session to be certified but are welcome to stay for the entire question and answer period.
On our website, you can watch videos about your condition, about cannabis and the law, or about the rules of the program in Pennsylvania. You can find out about side effects and health conditions that may make medical cannabis potentially dangerous. If you want to read the actual text of the PA code or get information from the state explore links that will send you directly to the PA department of health and the PA state legislature. We want you to be informed and empowered to take ownership of your medical condition and cannabis as a treatment modality. You can go back to all of these educational materials after your certification if you’d like. You literally have unlimited access!
THERE IS NO TEST IN THE CERTIFICATION PROCESS THAT YOU CAN PASS OR FAIL.
We are providing a stress-free way to get information in the privacy of your own home.
We understand that some patients may not want to engage with the group and may wish to remain silent because of anxiety or the desire for anonymity. Regardless of participation all patients have access to the online education materials, can take advantage of the cost savings that we pass on to our patients, and of course, if they meet the state’s requirements receive their certification. And please don’t worry, in our group if you want to remain anonymous others see you as your chosen username, only the medical provider knows who each username belongs to. Everyone will be muted at the beginning of the session, simply raise your virtual or actual hand to be unmuted. Otherwise, feel free to participate through the chat. Remember that once you speak others can see your image and username. If this bothers you, feel free to turn off your camera before speaking or participate through the chatbox without speaking.
You can take a picture of your medical records or letter and send them via a secure message to us via our secure HIPPA compliant platform. Unfortunately, we will NOT be able to certify a patient without medical records. You can go through the program but your certification can NOT be completed until we have reviewed them. Simply send us a message that you would like to be scheduled without sending your medical records and that you understand you will not be certified until we have the chance to review them. If you need to send them at a later date, simply log back into our portal and send them as an attachment to a message. We will accept a letter from your treating physician confirming your medical history even if it’s written on a prescription. However, it must be legible, contain the diagnosis, diagnosis code, and your name and date of birth. Other records including pages of actual treatment notes, diagnostic studies, etc. are of course acceptable as well. Keep in mind, we will review what you send us, but the requirement is only for records to show you have a qualifying medical condition…please don’t send 100 pages if only 1 or 2 will do.
We will need to review your intake and medical documentation to make sure that the group setting is appropriate for you. After a review of the information submitted, we will contact you about scheduling. We strive to do this within 24-48 hours. If after document review, we think your case is not suitable for our program, we will contact you for additional information and with information on your next steps.
If you don’t want others in the group to know who you are, remember to make your username something that is NOT easily recognizable as you in ZOOM. Also please no offensive, political, or otherwise inflammatory usernames folks…if you have to think about it at all, please pick another name. If your username will upset others in the group, will have to disconnect you. We cannot see your password, but it would be bad cyber etiquette to make it the same password as your medical marijuana registry with the state of Pennsylvania. We highly suggest that if your computer or phone gives you the option you save your username and password into our portal, you should do so. That way you are not looking for them at the last minute before your appointment.
